ACQUA-ZUFFREGNA

The Castel dell Ovo  is situated next to the S.Salvatore convent in a small place called Santa Lucia .During the day time a group of women went into the city selling acqua zuffregna  with the mummare . One cup costing 1 centsimo and when night fell and there were no longer any people in the port in Santa Lucia  the women filled up carts with the jugs which were pulled by the husbands or sons . Finally they took these carts full of the jugs to the stalls ready to be filled for the following morning .
